The length of time it takes to perform crime scene or unattended death cleanup will vary. However, our technicians work through the night to remedy the situation and allow the family or property owner to regain access. We work as quickly as we can while still being extremely thorough in our death scene cleanup efforts. Once the property has been treated for all hazards and is certifiably safe, the crime scene clean-up process is put in motion. This may include painting, drywall replacement, carpet replacement, sub-floor replacement, and many other services. Mastertech will work quickly and carefully to return your property to pre-incident condition. Most restoration efforts can be completed within one day however, in order to properly match up carpeting or flooring, additional time may be necessary to match the correct style and grade of the existing floor.
In most cases, home or property insurance companies will pay the claim for our cleanup services. When coverage is awarded, it is usually under a homeowner’s policy that is not considered to be a “named-perils policy”. Named perils policies usually only covers fire, lightning, windstorms and hail, explosions, riots/civil unrest, smoke damage, aircraft and vehicles, vandalism, theft, falling objects, water damage, and snow weight. These policies are not as common as typical homeowner’s policies. In the event that Mastertech’s cleanup services are not covered by named perils policies or others, we will provide a quote directly to the property owner.
There a great deal of state and federal mandates that govern the bio-hazard clean up industry. There are a number of risks for a business who chooses to perform bio-hazard clean up internally, including:
The truth is that everyone reacts to mold differently – just like allergies. It may not bother you, while it terribly affects the person next to you. The other truth is that long-term exposure to mycotoxin-releasing molds can cause health issues in all humans – regardless of age or how healthy you are.
In most cases, yes. We build containment chambers around affected areas in order to keep occupants safe and to avoid cross contamination. If for some reason, we determine that you should not be in the property during clean up, we will let you know.
Your estimated timeline will be outlined at the bottom of your pricing table in your proposal.
No. All of our products are safe for humans and animals.
Part of our process is figuring out why mold developed in the first place. Once we determine what caused it, we’ll make recommendations towards prevention.

If additional contamination or damage is discovered during your project, we will document it with pictures or video and immediately discuss any necessary additional work with you – before performing the work.

The Mold problem in the finished basement (where I spend most of the day), was so bad , that I seriously considered selling the house if the problem could not be resolved. Like most new contractors, I found Master Tech through Angie's list. After interviewing 3 mold remediation contractors, I selected MasterTech because of their high rate of satisfaction and willingness to guarantee elimination of mold. I have had a lot of experience with contractors after completely renovating a condo in South Florida. MasterTech proved to be the MOST relivable and professional of all! Workers showed up on time and…

He not only explained all the work, but his engineering expertise uncovered several other dangerous trouble spots for us - answered why house was sinking/revealed vents opened by previous owner, causing needless payment for ac and heat of a large storage area for 20 years, need for retaining wall outside to stop water entering foundation, etc. (MasterTech could not make all corrections, but alerted us to the need, and told us what was not necessary to do!) Tom…
